We pay for items through your choice of store credit, cash, or Venmo. We will always pay about 20% more in store credit vs cash or Venmo. Store credit is NOT redeemable for cash.
What if I change my mind about my trade-in?
So you accidentally traded in your prized possession to us in your box of trade ins. What options do you have? While we would love to offer a way for you to buy back your item, due to the increased risk of peddling stolen games and consoles, we are unable to sell your items back to you at this time. As a Utah registered business, we have a legal and moral obligation to ensure all items traded in are the customer's own items and reserve the right to refuse a trade-in if we believe the item has been stolen. We also reserve the right to report suspected crimes to local and federal agencies in addition to banning said individuals from trading or purchasing from us in the future. The good news is that many of your trade in items will be available for sale as soon as the next day, so you can always buy it back at that point.
How much do you pay for video game and console cases/boxes, inserts, and cover art?
It depends on the condition and completeness of the items being sold as well as each individual item, but generally we pay:
- $0.25 for video game cases (DS/3DS, Xbox/360, Wii/WiiU, PS2/3/4, Gamecube, etc)
- $0.15 for inserts/cover art
- Up to $25 for game console boxes
- Up to $35 for game console boxes with all inserts
Not all game inserts/cover art are purchased, but we will always buy video game/dvd/bluray cases in good condition.
How do you decide your trade-in rates?
We base our rates on a variety of factors, including condition, rarity, demand, and completeness. Our buying rates are based off of PriceCharting.com and GameStop trade in values, as well as current resale value and the average time before an item sells.
Do I have to purchase an item after trading in my stuff?
Nope! Regardless of which payment method you choose, you never need to buy anything from our store on the same day. Our trade credit never expires, so don't be afraid to save it for when you find something incredible to add to your collection!
